Happy New Year!

Here we are, 2025! It feels like only yesterday the ICT world was bracing for Y2K; a challenge that, in the end, never materialised. Now, 25 years later, we’re preparing for… what exactly?

If you’re someone who kicks off the year with a list of resolutions, you might already be realising how easy these promises are to lose track of (sorry to burst the bubble!). But, does that make the exercise pointless? Not at all! Taking a moment to pause, reflect and recalibrate can be powerful. That’s the true value of setting intentions.

So, does a new year automatically bring new opportunities? Perhaps. But I’d argue opportunities are always there, every moment has the potential to be one. The key lies in recognising and acting on them and that starts with keeping an open mind.

Being open-minded means more than just entertaining new ideas. It’s about observing and evaluating without judgement, considering possibilities and asking yourself: “What can I do with this?” The next step, however, is often the hardest; determining who will turn that possibility into reality.

Too often people think they need to go it alone. But, more often than not, the next step lies outside your comfort zone or expertise. That’s where partnerships and alliances come into play. Who can help you elevate this opportunity?  Just as importantly, how do you approach them?

An ad-hoc approach rarely succeeds. A structured, well-prepared strategy is key. This doesn’t have to be daunting, when you have the right guidance, a thoughtful approach accelerates your path to success.
