For some companies the old approach of Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) might still work in mass marketing. However, I believe that business is personal. It is no longer about B2C or B2B, it is about P2P: person to person. At least, when I look at my work, it is based on relationships and thus business is personal. Collaboration only works when there is a certain level of likeability and respect. We don’t have to become close friends, but it should be a friendly relationship. The chemistry needs to work.
Coaching is super personal
Business is personal, coaching is super personal. We can only work effectively together in a coaching relationship when there is that “click”. Based on the right chemistry, we can create a friendly working relationship together. However, we will have to get to know each other first. That is the reason why you will find the invitation to schedule a “virtual coffee” on my website. A virtual coffee is a short online meeting, time for a first exploratory conversation. A conversation to get personal and to find out what is driving each of us. To discover if there is that right “click” before we start working together to improve your results.
Some food for thought
Look at your own network of business relationships: what do you notice about the relationships, are there some that work better than others? What can you do on a personal level to improve the other relationships?
